African American Leadership

African-American Leadership (AAL) is designed to recognize African Americans who make Cornerstone Society gifts of $1,000 or more annually to United Way of Greater Greensboro. Through AAL, African Americans are encouraged to become leadership givers by investing their time and resources to strengthen the impact of United Way of Greater Greensboro's partnership and programs.

The benefits of participating in African-American Leadership include:

  • Cultivation of relationships with African-American volunteers, and business and community leaders
  • Opportunity to serve on an AAL committee or subcommittee whose goals are to educate, inspire, and engage African Americans around key issues that are important to the community
  • Satisfaction of knowing that your contributions are changing the lives of those in need in our community
  • Opportunity to partner with agencies in a variety of ways

Women's Leadership

Women's Leadership engages and celebrates leaders who contribute $1,000 or more annually. The mission of Women's Leadership is to mobilize women to become powerful philanthropists through their time, talent and treasure. The four values encompassing Women's Leadership are:

  • Philanthropy
  • Volunteering
  • Networking
  • Mentoring

Women's Leadership members are as diverse as the causes they support. They are corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, and community servants; they are mothers, daughters, wives, and sisters; they come from different backgrounds, age groups, and experiences. They all share one important goal- they want to be part of the change that inspires hope and creates opportunities for a better tomorrow.

Women's Leadership hosts a Done-in-a-Day volunteer opportunity once a month. Please join us to see firsthand how United Way supported programs and initiatives build strong communities and families.
