Our Work Every Dollar Matters
When you give $1 a week for one year, your donation provides:
- a counseling session for a foster/adoptive child/parent. (Adoption and Foster Care program at Children’s Home Society)
- the cost for 1 caregiver to attend a workshop on caring for himself/herself as well as a loved one. (CarePartners program at Adult Center for Enrichment)
- a year of educational workbooks for an adult who is studying to complete their GED to ensure they obtain a new or better job. (Adult Basic Literacy program at Reading Connections)
- nearly one week’s worth of food for clients staying in a domestic violence shelter. (Victim Services program at Family Service of the Piedmont)
- 10 hot meals and 20 snacks. (Adult Day Services program at Adult Center for Enrichment)
When you give $5 a week for one year, your donation provides:
- child care assistance for 2 women to complete the pre-employment training. (New Choices program at Women’s Resource Center)
- 25 hours of in-home respite for caregivers. (CarePartners program at Adult Center for Enrichment)
- pays for tutoring for ten low-wealth youth in the national award-winning POWER HOUR program throughout the academic year. (Boy & Girls Club program at Salvation Army of Greensboro)
- SAT preparation for one student in Hayes-Taylor Black & Latino Achievers program. (Family Services program at YMCA of Greensboro, Inc.)
- training for 70 volunteers the skills needed to tutor reading using the researched base tool aimed at increasing the reading level of students by a minimum of one grade level. (Spirit of Excellence program at Black Child Development Institute, Inc.)
- special medical equipment for the homecare team. (Kids Path program at Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro)
When you give $10 a week for one year, your donation provides:
- education for 10 women on how to protect themselves from physical abuse and imminent threats to their children. (Legal Information & Access Program at Women’s Resource Center)
- 3,125 pounds of food from food reclamation programs such as Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina. (Direct Client Services at Triad Health Project)
- more than 150 hot lunches. (Higher Ground Day Center at Triad Health Project)
- Over 7 hours of traditional case management. (Direct Client Services at Triad Health Project)
- two months of after school care for one child. (Family Services program at YMCA of Greensboro, Inc.)
- 100 hours of parent counseling services. (Resource and Referral—Obtaining Childcare program at Guilford Child Development)
