ABOUT US

What we do

Mission: To improve lives and create thriving communities by mobilizing and uniting the caring power of Greensboro, North Carolina.

We are leading our community in the critical mission of breaking the cycle of poverty in Greater Greensboro.

Did you know that 1 in 5 families in Greensboro live below the federal poverty threshold? Did you also know that in 2015, our community was identified as number one in the nation for food hardship? There are families struggling to make ends meet and achieve their basic needs. At United Way of Greater Greensboro, we are focused on breaking the cycle of poverty for families in our community. Together, with committed partners, generous corporate leaders and caring individuals, we work to address the root causes of poverty so that every individual and family can succeed.

  1. We invest in programs that help low-income families overcome poverty.
  2. We unite organizations in partnership.
  3. We empower people to take action.
